School Office

Our School Office staff, Mrs Cassidy and Mrs Vine, are here to help you, however here are a few items that may be useful to parents and carers which you can view or download from our website.

Admissions

Our Admissions Policy is published in the policy section of this site. Click here

Applications for school places should be made via the Local Authority http://www.durham.gov.uk/schooladmissions

If you are unsuccessful in your application for a place, you have the right to appeal this decision. Details of the appeals process can be found on the Local Authority website http://www.durham.gov.uk/schoolappeals

Written appeals should be submitted to the school within 20 days of an unsuccessful application. Appeals will be heard before the end of the summer term; you will receive at least 10 days notice of the appeal hearing and a decision letter within 5 days of the appeal hearing.

We also run a Breakfast Club from Monday to Friday, 7.45am to 8.45am. This is open to children throughout the school and costs £15.00 per week (£3.00 per day) payable on a Monday morning.

We also run an After School Club which runs from 3.30pm – 4.45pm, Monday to Thursday and costs £14.00 per week (£3.50) per session.

School Dinners

We encourage children to have a school meal at lunchtime. A hot, freshly cooked 2 course nutritionally balanced meal is available free of charge to children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 and to KS2 children, at a cost of £10.50 per week.

Please note that dinner money must be paid in advance, at the start of each week on Parentpay. Weekly menus are available to view below and children will choose either a hot or cold meal each morning to have that day for lunch. These menus begin on Monday 24th September 2020 and will run on a three weekly rota, beginning with Week 1.

WEEK 1
WEEK 2
WEEK 3

If your child has a special dietary requirement, (supported by a medical practitioner) then this can be provided.

Children  may alternatively bring a packed lunch, We ask that parents provide a healthy lunch and do not send in sweets, fizzy drinks or any items containing nuts.

If your child wishes to change from school dinners to pack lunches or vice versa, we require one weeks notice in writing.

Absence

We aim to maintain attendance at 96% or above and parents will be informed by letter if their child’s attendance falls below this threshold. The school understands that there are times when children will be absent from school due to illness and medical appointments. If is necessary for children to be absent, please inform the school by telephone or note. (If you are ringing, please use the school telephone number 01207 503982 and do not use the Primary Contact texting service number.) If we do not receive a reason for absence, you will contacted by the school.
