My name is Olivia Reid, I am 11 years old and I don’t think that I could ever live without karate! I started to train when I was 8 years old and now train four times a week in the local area.
Some people may think martial arts is about hurting people or picking a fight but it absolutely is not! Karate is for self-defence only!
As well as building strength and keeping you fit, you also learn:
Respect, Disipline, Great cardio, Flexibility, Self-defence
Last but not least, karate has also given me a lot more confidence in myself. The students and senseis (teachers) are really kind, welcoming and are always there to help you. At my first lesson, I was too scared to get up for the first 20 minutes but have never looked back.
